Tools for Resident ‘Taster Sessions’

Islington Logo

As part of our continuing support of training opportunities for local residents, TCL recently donated a selection of battery powered tools, hand tools and equipment for use on a programme of construction themed ‘taster sessions’.

In partnership with Islington Council and as part of our commitment to bring added value to our current repairs and maintenance contract that will directly benefit residents, the scheme targets women and younger people, giving them the opportunity to try out a selection of practical tasks and gain basic building experience.

The TCL supported events so far include:

3 x ‘Taster Sessions’ for groups of 20 women

8 x ‘Taster Sessions’ for 16 year old pupils in various Islington Secondary Schools

The tools have been much appreciated and really useful for the sessions, thank you very much for your support. We will be creating a permanent display in our workshop acknowledging your support.

More events are already in the diary for March and we look forward to continuing our support in the coming months.
